Learn-to-Ride Instructor Training
As a part of our equity initiatives, we are offering Adult Learn-to-Ride classes designed for older teens and adults within traditionally underserved communities across Nebraska in 2024.
And we need instructors! Join us for our Learn-To-Ride Instructor Training.
In this class, you'll learn how to:
- Facilitate and lead a learn-to-ride class on your own
- Teach riders how to balance and steer a bike, starting without pedals and progressing to pedals by the end of class
- To teach adults basic bicycle riding skills, including starting, stopping, steering, and balancing
- Teach safe cycling practices and the benefits of cycling for their health, fitness, and transportation
Class participants will learn how to ride on standard, step-through, bike share bikes provided by Heartland Bike Share.
After the instructor training, you will help lead the first learn-to-ride class and put your newly learned skills to practice alongside your instructor.
